Rajinikanth’s Coolie crosses ₹300 crore worldwide in just 3 days, surpassing Sitaare Zameen Par and Housefull 5 lifetime collections. The film sets a new Tamil cinema record.
Rajinikanth’s action-packed entertainer Coolie storms past ₹300 crore worldwide in just three days.

Rajinikanth’s latest blockbuster Coolie continues its dream run at the global box office. Within just three days of release, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has stormed past the ₹300 crore mark worldwide, outpacing the lifetime collections of Bollywood hits Sitaare Zameen Par (₹263 crore) and Housefull 5 (₹288 crore).
Coolie Day 3 Worldwide Box Office Report
Despite the fading buzz of its opening day and Independence Day holiday, Coolie sustained impressive momentum on Saturday. The film collected ₹38.50 crore net on day three, pushing its domestic tally to ₹158.25 crore net (₹187 crore gross).
On the international front, Coolie crossed the $15 million mark before the end of Saturday. With this, the film’s total worldwide gross has reached an estimated ₹320 crore.
This milestone makes Coolie the fastest Tamil film ever to hit ₹300 crore globally, breaking the record set by Vijay’s Leo, which took four days to achieve the feat last year.
Rajinikanth’s Box Office Reign
On its third day, Coolie not only created a new Tamil cinema record but also overtook the lifetime business of major Bollywood releases. And the film hasn’t even completed its opening weekend yet.
With the pace it has set, trade analysts believe Coolie is eyeing a ₹600-crore lifetime haul. If achieved, it could challenge the collections of 2.0, another Rajinikanth-starrer that sits at the top of Tamil cinema’s box office charts.
So far, only three Tamil films have crossed the ₹600 crore mark worldwide — 2.0, Jailer, and Leo. Remarkably, Rajinikanth has headlined two of them.
About the Film
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features Rajinikanth in the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan also makes a special cameo appearance in the film.
